In Proverbs 19:23 we read “The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm.” When you hear the word “fear,” what comes to your mind? Spiders? Snakes? Heights? Speaking in public? For me, I’m deathly afraid of snakes. Deathly. Afraid. Like, paralysis! And…
I don’t know about you, but I’m never envious of other people’s ministries.
Photo by Jeremy Perkins on Unsplash This past Sunday I made the statement that the underlying reason for our sinful behavior, thoughts, affections, and words stems from unbelief. For sure this unbelief manifests itself in a lot of ways but I humbly believe it is an overflow of not believing the truth and promises of God’s Word and…
Have you ever thought of criticism as a gift? Maybe you should.

Ken Blanchard and Phil Hodges in their book Lead Like Jesus: Lessons from the Greatest Leadership Role Model of All Tim write that “pride and fear always separate us from God, from each other, and us from ourselves” (58). What does this look like? How does pride and fear separate us from God? Too ashamed about failure to…
