Recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time doing counseling…

which has left me feeling inadequate and deficient in so many ways.  And understanding that it is and will forever be a prominent part of what I do week-in-and-week-out I’m making a commitment to read or reread some books that I pray will have a positive impact on my counseling.  The books I’m referring to are:

  1. Counsel from the Cross – Connecting Broken People to Love of Christ.  Authors: Elyse M. Fitzpatrick and Dennis E. Johnson
  2. Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands – People in Need of Chance Helping People in Need of Change.  Author: Paul David Tripp
  3. The Peacemaker.  Author: Ken Sande
  4. Relationships – A Mess Worth Making.  Authors: Tim Lane and Paul David Tripp

Currently, I’m working through “Counsel from the Cross” with a friend of mine and look to start “Instruments in the Redeemer’s Hands” soon.
