Trouble reading the Bible? Try this simple approach.

Dave Kraft in his above book submits the “Four R’s.” It’s simple and easy to remember. More importantly though, I believe it’ll be a helpful process for you reading and retaining the truths you read in the Word.

  1. Read. Read and mark the words and verses that speak to you.
  2. Reflect. Think about what you marked.
  3. Respond. Focus on 1 or 2 of the truths you marked to pray about and then obey.
  4. Record. Capture what you read, reflected upon and responded to in writing, perhaps a journal. I try to this everyday and it’s been helpful in facilitating some sweet moments with the Lord.
