Instruments in the Redeemer's Hands

People never say, please listen I’m about to share a significant moment in my past OR please listen I’m about to reveal the motives of why I think a particular way or why I did something — Paul David Tripp

For that reason, a person needs to be skilled in asking questions in order to know an individual biblically. Tripp gives four categories/questions to help an individual better understand the person they’re trying to help. They are…

  1. Situation: What is/was going on?
  2. Response: What does the person do in response to what is going on?
  3. Thoughts: What does the person think about what is going on?
  4. Motives: What does the person want out of what is going on?
