A word from Shea Ferguson:
We’re excited to be hosting our first mission team from First Baptist Woodstock starting this Friday, April 1st-April 8th. This is a team of 19 made up mostly of middle school students. We’ve got a full week of activities helping us engage people and serve areas of our community. Please pray for the team and us as we serve each day.
The big event while the team is here is our Bike Safety Rodeo. Riding bikes around neighborhoods is huge in our area. We see tons of bikes outside of the elementary schools every day. We’ve partnered with the Chandler Police Bike Patrol and Global Bikes for this event. Students will come and have their bike & helmet inspected and will go through a five-station course teaching them road & sidewalk safety along with alertness while riding. At the end they and their families will be able to play on inflatables, eat popcorn and sno-cones.
Please pray that God brings out many families for us to engage and build relationships with throughout the event.
The rest of the week we’ll be hosting a block party, a mom’s morning out, serving local organizations, washing cars for teachers and our local bank employees, providing breakfast at schools, prayer walking and street evangelism.
Your prayers for the church and us are helping to open doors and build relationships in our community. Please continue to pray for doors to be open as we have recently hit some struggles with leaders at our kids elementary school. They have not been as receptive to us serving and engaging them in recent weeks. We know this is spiritual warfare to keep us from earning the right to share the Gospel but believe God has us here for these people to know Christ.
I’ll be posting pictures and updates throughout the week on our church facebook page. If you haven’t already liked the page you can do so by going to www.facebook.com/azfreedomlife
