Dr. Lawless regularly blogs here and without fail I’m always encouraged and challenged by his words.

Leaders often lead in their own power. I’m guilty of this. I wrongly and foolishly think that my competency comes from my aptitude, wisdom and experiences. In so doing, I lead out of my own power, not God’s. The Apostle Paul writes that our competency comes from God (2 Corinthians 3:5). Therefore, our leadership capacity and capability should be dependent upon Him.

Read this short little post and ask the Lord to search your heart (Psalm 139:23) to see if any of these behaviors of people leading in their own power is something you’re guilty of.
